Day 3 – Wednesday, July 6, 2011

So, thought i would write in English for our International friends. My apologies if offend our German speaking public, but you can just call or write me if you have problems. ;)

Well, Day 3 is ‘in the bag’ as we wrap a very productive 2nd day of practices.- Another 2 practices and a more than a few meetings. Although a few of the guys have a few sore spots we are healthy and ready for the trip to Innsbruck. Tomorrow will be a ‘recovery’ day, well as much as one can recover during an 8 hour bus ride. We are blessed with an outstanding support staff from the doctors/Physios, to the equipment guys, to the organizational crew. The hard work and expertise of these volunteers help make this the outstanding experience it is. It is not easy to take care of 45 football players and I have been around enough of them to know exactly what a challenge it is.

We have made some great improvements, and both our offense and defense look very strong. At the Quarterback position I am very pleased with the progress of Jo and Gary. Both are making good decisions, throwing accurately and basically picking up where they left off in their respective GFL seasons.

Everyone is excited to make the move to Innsbruck and take on the challenges that lay ahead. I, for one, cannot wait to see what this team will be able to accomplish. I have a strong feeling that we will surprise a lot of people in the next two weeks.
