John Rosenberg brings a winning record and unique background to Munich Cowboys football. A graduate of Harvard University, he has been a coach with National Championship teams in 3 different countries, and has an 80% winning percentage in his 11 seasons coaching in Europe.

In GFL 2008 the team of the Munich Cowboys achieved an impressive 3rd place in regular season and qualified as upcoming team for the playoffs.
In 2007, Rosenberg led the Cowboys to an undefeated season with 15 wins and 1 tie, and a return to the GFL 1st League. He had previously served as the Cowboys Defensive Coordinator under Head Coach Dean Cokinos in 2000-01 when the team was 26-2 and GFL South champions.

He won the German Bowl in 2002 as Head Coach of the Hamburg Blue Devils and he won the Italian Championship in 2005 as Head Coach of the Bergamo Lions. The Bergamo team finished 13-1 losing only to the Vienna Vikings in the Eurobowl championship game.

In the USA, Rosenberg was an assistant coach for 11 seasons at Penn State under the legendary Joe Paterno. During those years he coached in 11 Bowl games, including Penn State's first National Championship in 1982. While at Penn State, he earned a Masters Degree in Education and Counseling.
He was Head Coach at Brown University in the Ivy League for 6 seasons from 1984 - 1990. Two of his assistants at Brown went on to become Coordinators in the NFL, and 4 assistants became college Head Coaches.

Rosenberg's first coaching experience in Europe was in Munich in 1994 as Head Coach of the Munich Thunder in the Football League of Europe. He developed a new team in a new league, by recruiting local Munich area players from different Clubs, and combining them with outstanding American imports including former Notre Dame star QB and Heisman Trophy runner-up Tony Rice. The Thunder began 1-2, then after Rice's arrival, won 7 straight games, finishing with an 8 - 3 record. They won the South division championship, and lost in the FLE championship game.

In the off-season coach Rosenberg lives in Los Angeles/California.
